Our History as a Semiconductor Industry Supplier

Foresight Technologies was founded in 1995 to meet the growing demands for aerospace-quality manufacturing processes for critical new applications in plastics to support the fast-growing semiconductor equipment industry. Since our inception, we have grown from a 6,000-square-foot facility to a global manufacturing company with a broad range of capabilities and locations across the US and Malaysia. Today, we have over 350,000 square feet of production floor space, a team of over 700, 130 advanced CNC machines,150 certified plastic welders, and extensive equipment integration capabilities.

Foresight Technologies Highlights

  • 1995

Foresight Technologies was founded and soon moved into its 6,000-square-foot facility. We focused on bringing aerospace quality and production methods to the semiconductor equipment world.

Foresight Technologies expanded into a 20,000-square-foot facility and added new CNC and plastic welding capabilities.

  • 2001

Foresight Technologies transitioned to higher-efficiency CNC tools to improve output, reduce labor, and drive costs down for our customers. Additional enhancements included adding horizontal machining centers, mill turns, and new machining strategies for material removal.

  • 2005

Foresight Technologies acquired a new 50,000-square-foot facility in Phoenix, intending to use it as our permanent home in the US, now known as Foresight Arizona.

  • 2008

Added second 24,000 square foot facility in Phoenix, AZ dedicated to satisfying customer’s short term needs to process large-volume, low-cost CNC metal machining. 20 large format CNCs were installed and at 100% capacity within 3 moths of initiating the project.

  • 2010

Foresight Asia Pacific was founded in Penang, Malaysia, to provide Southeast Asian customers with the same production capabilities.

  • 2018

Over $4 million invested globally in next generation CNC machining technology to allow us to stay ahead of the competition. We operate advanced 5 axis mills, flexible manufacturing systems with 24 rail-guided pallets, mill turns and more, with over 50 CNC tools to support our customers.

  • 2019

Foresight Asia Pacific completed the acquisition of a new, long-term production campus in Malaysia, which expanded our existing facilities and provided substantial room for growth. The state-of-the-art facility included the option to build an additional 100,000 square feet of production space to meet customer needs when necessary.

  • 2020

Foresight Technologies completed a multi-year investment in next-generation, standardized CNC machining technology to stay ahead of our global competition.

Our Foresight Arizona expansion included the addition of 5-axis mills, Fastem flexible manufacturing systems with rail-guided pallets, single-operation mill turns, and more, including over 50 new CNCs to support our customers.

Foresight Technologies acquired ProPlastics Technology (Arizona, US), immediately expanding our capacity to meet growing customer needs.

How We Stay Ahead of the Competition

At Foresight, we are driven to be our customer’s long term partner to solve supply chain challenges.  Our objective is to build a Strategic Cost Advantage by leading the industry in Equipment Technology, Manufacturing Processes, Quality and overall Cost Structure.  Combining these core objectives allow Foresight to stay ahead of the competition.

Equipment Technology Leadership

  • Continuous acquisition of advanced CNC machining equipment technologies reduces labor costs and increases throughput (flexible manufacturing systems, 5-axis, multi-pallet, multi-axis).
  • Ongoing adoption of new manufacturing processes, such as hot plate welding, near net shape plastics, and Foresight-designed automated socket fusion allow better designs.
  • Custom continuous improvement processes incorporate advances in everything from workflow, deburring, part marking, automation, and more.
  • Technology standardization, development and sharing enables fast adoption and transfers between factories.

Manufacturing Process Leadership

  • Develop global best known methods (BKM) in key manufacturing processes such as milling, deburring, and welding through new tooling, machining approaches and automation to achieve the fastest process times in the industry.
  • Standardized twin factories allow for efficient part and process transfer between sites.
  • Automate indirect labor activities to reduce the indirect work needed to create value and improve performance. This extends across every department in the company and is one of our biggest savings opportunities.
  • Use of advanced software automation and data analytics to drive faster, more accurate decision making with less effort.

Quality Leadership

  • We automate quality processes for speed and consistency. Approaches include software-based bubbling of prints, automated generation of AS9100 inspection forms, CNC machine probing, CMM inspection, and internal metrics.
  • Implementation of setup elimination, quality plans by part, and on-floor inspection technologies.
  • Extensive experience in complex FAIR, PPAP, and other part qualifications for critical applications.

Overhead Cost Advantages

  • Maintain the lowest cost to customers for manufacturing facilities, overhead, assets and working capital.
  • Based in the right locations to ensure lowest cost for our customers.
  • Smart investments in facilities and equipment.
  • Leverage Asia cost advantages for production and administrative activities where possible.
