The rapid pace of advanced manufacturing and semiconductor fab development globally has strained both the talent pool and the materials supply chain. Off-site manufacturing (OSM) is a key practice transforming fab construction and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) delivery, helping relieve some of that strain by prefabricating critical elements and equipment in controlled environments before on-site installation. Semiconductor manufacturers need a factory infrastructure partner with a deep understanding of the materials and designs that go into the complex fab equipment building the next generation of semiconductor chips and advanced packaging.
Over the past 30 years, Foresight Technologies has risen as a leading supplier of high-purity plastics and chemical-delivery systems for semiconductor OEMs through its off-site factory manufacturing model. Plastic and metal parts, subsystems and high-purity equipment are prefabricated at our U.S. and Malaysian facilities, then delivered and installed on-site by Foresight On-Site, our high-purity fab construction division. This model has enabled us to deliver high-quality global manufacturing support quickly and with significant cost savings.
High-Purity Manufacturing Built for Semiconductor OEMs
As a vertically integrated tier 1 supplier, Foresight integrates seamlessly into its customers’ supply chains, delivering cost and quality advantages. Engineers collaborate with OEM customers to design and develop complex subsystems and assemblies as well as turnkey solutions for mission-critical semiconductor chemical-delivery processes. We partner with customers from concept through production and support redesigns that improve performance and reduce costs.
Our production facilities house the most advanced computer numerical control (CNC) machining technologies, including flexible semi- and fully automated manufacturing systems with five-axis, multi-pallet and multi-axis functionalities. Our near-net-shape molding capabilities are unmatched, producing precise plastic components that minimize material waste and reduce the need for secondary machining. Both facilities also feature Class 1,000 and 10,000 cleanrooms for assembly and testing, which mirror end-user environments.
We have standardized our global manufacturing output through continuous testing and refinement of our production processes. Over the years, we’ve introduced new capabilities, including hot plate welding, automated socket fusion, metals-to-plastic conversion, and mechanical and electrical assembly, to deliver a strategic cost advantage for our customers while maintaining our quality leadership. This focus on continuous improvement was further reinforced by the launch of Foresight On-Site (FOS).
Bridging Production and Installation from Factory to Fab
Foresight On-Site offers fab-direct construction support, including C4-licensed pipefitting, wet-processing tool delivery and installation, chemical delivery and containment systems, and other advanced manufacturing infrastructure services. The Foresight On-Site approach draws upon decades of plastics expertise and a team of more than 150 certified plastic-welding professionals to dramatically reduce staffing, training and certification costs for customer mobilizations.
This approach has proven results, delivering measurable improvements in project efficiency and cost savings. By producing up to 60% of high-purity plastics, piping and chemical-delivery equipment off-site, our FOS teams streamline installation, minimize on-site labor and improve quality control. The blended delivery model provides flexibility to accommodate variable demand in semiconductor fab projects and enables targeted workforce deployment aligned with customer needs.
Our capabilities in fab infrastructure continue to grow as our customers recognize our quality and process leadership. We’ve evolved from delivering drain and containment pans and other high-purity plastic parts to providing tool hookup and conversion support, with plans to expand further over the next several years.
