Large-Format Near-Net Shape Molding Enables New, Sustainable Designs for Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment[

Foresight is committed to providing the right molding solution for each application. One of the newest and fastest-growing parts of our business is developing partnerships for large-format near-net shape molding programs that complement traditional injection molding. Historically, these unique solutions have not been effectively implemented due to the need for large-format molding machines, high-purity requirements, and quality challenges.

Material Capabilities for High-Purity Applications

Today, we offer proven large-format near-net shape blanks (approx. 600mm) in Natural PolyPropylene (NPP), Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), and many other materials—supporting downstream plastic machining and assembly services for demanding builds, including components used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Foresight supports a range of engineered thermoplastics suitable for high-purity environments, including:

  • Natural Polypropylene (NPP)
  • Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)
  • Additional application-specific materials

These materials are selected to meet the chemical resistance, purity, and mechanical stability requirements of semiconductor processing environments.

Reducing Waste and Improving Material Efficiency

These materials represent the future of near-net shapes—eliminating 40–80% of material wasted in billet plastics production, providing more dimensionally stable parts, and enabling entirely new design strategies. This improved supply chain can also reduce production time and product cost, while lowering landfill, energy consumption, and CO2 output. When combined with our Hot Plate Welding systems and integrated finishing through our plastic machining and assembly services, customers can create robust, high-purity flow paths and subassemblies designed to perform reliably in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
